I just hope the mainline tracks are used moreso than they are now, if the usage stays as it is (mainly using the local line) then to me this new timetable is totally pointless and will drive me to become a regular on the 423 I hope it didn't sound like a whinge, I realised this was going to happen when I saw the version of the TT they put out for public comment, I would of thought they could of kept a few of the 18 past or 48 past the hour service out of East Hills that go via Sydneham and stop at Tempe in the peaks, I do like my 1.35pm that does that, but would understand if that was slotted through the airport line. This directive came from the cheif exectutive.įor you yes, only a few peak hour services via Sydenham and none that stop at Bexley North "Blackadder" The new timetable slows down almost all trains and includes more dwell time reagrdless of the time of day.

Some drivers will run the times that the timetable says which means running at VERY slow speeds. If a train is running "OK" it will now arrive ? minutes early and either sit at a home signal or a platform for up to 5 minutes. IF it improves on time running, will passengers really be upset it takes a few minutes longer to get where they are going? and drivers road knowledge and the old days of making up time. I could rave on about track engineering/super elevation, the ride of trains etc.

This has led to drivers running under the speedbaords and not trying to regain lost time.

Now that Railcorp is "totally safety conscience" and have decided that posted speed boards are the absolute maximum and drivers speeds are monitored and checked by mobile radar guns and dattaloggers. Don't forget (I'm sure this has all been said before)Īll the extra running time is being fed in for a couple of reasons.
